John LaForge

Associate Conductor

Bass-baritone John LaForge has performed on select concerts with MOS and The Michael O’Neal Chamber Singers since March 2000. In summer 2008, John was a soloist in the Holocaust Cantata with MOS in performances in Columbus, Georgia, as well as two performances in Italy. John returned to Italy in July 2011 to solo with MOS in performances of Schubert’s Mass in G.

He is in his eighth year as the Coordinator of Music Education for Fulton County Schools. In addition, John works with numerous arts organizations in the Atlanta area, including the National Center for Partnerships in Music, the Spivey Hall Education Committee, and the Capitol City Opera Board of Directors. He is also director of auditions for the Southeast Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council.

John joined the MOS staff in 2008 and assists with rehearsals, sectionals, and occasionally conducts the chorus in concert.  He was the Bass-Baritone soloist with MOS for the Brahms A German Requiem in March 2011, will solo in the February MOS concert The Brilliance of Beethoven, and will conducted the Fourth Annual Hear the Future! concert in April 2011. He also sings with The Michael O’Neal Chamber Singers.
