Te Deums! Expressions of Praise Friday, October 27, 2000 8:00 PM
As the curtain rises on a new season of song, The Michael O'Neal Singers present a concert dedicated to a musical form which carries a rich tradition of celebration and thanksgiving, thousands of years in
the making.
Te Deum – a song of praise and
rejoicing – has been associated since the 17th Century with coronations, royal weddings and birthdays.
The program will feature Te Deum settings by F.J. Haydn, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, William Walton, and John Rutter. Accompanied by organ and timpani, this majestic and festive music promises to kick off the new season with great "pomp and circumstance."
