Poets and Lovers - The Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers

The acclaimed 16-voice professional ensemble of the MOS, the Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers, presents its annual concert Valentine's Day weekend, with two performances in the metro Atlanta area.

On February 12^th and 13^th, the Chamber Singers will combine music and poetry in a poem perfect for Valentine’s Day (or any other time of the year!). For as long as poets have penned poems, the subject of love in all its myriad forms has been a favorite topic. Composers have found the subject just as irresistible and have created some of their most intimate and beautiful expressions on the topic of love. MOCS will share poems and songs that span the centuries and remind us that love is both universal and eternal.

MOS's recently released CD, I Have Had Singing, features the incredible blend of voices in The Michael O’Neal Chamber Singers and will be available for purchase at both concerts.

Hailed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as "the finest small chorus to emerge in more than a decade," the Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers perform music ranging from Renaissance motets to popular show tunes and have appeared on college concert series and at professional trade shows throughout Georgia. Special appearances have included the Georgia Music Educators Convention, the Georgia Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, the DeKalb International Choral Festival, the Inaugural Concert of the Gwinnett Fine Arts Center Gallery Series, the Gainesville ProMusica Concert Series, and three performances at the acoustically acclaimed Spivey Hall of Clayton College and State University.
