MOS e-News Message: February 17, 2005 - The Michael O'Neal Singers

The Michael O'Neal Singers will appear with the Atlanta Boy Choir and the Atlanta Sacred Chorale to present the 16th annual Denese Irvin Memorial Concert, February 26 at Emory University's Schwartz Center on the Emory University campus.

This concert marks the 16th year the Atlanta Sacred Chorale (formerly Gwinnett Festival Singers) honors the memory of one of their founding members. Denese Irvin was a young music educator in the Atlanta area who was tragically killed in an automobile accident just prior to the first rehearsal of the newly-founded Gwinnett Festival Singers. This concert annually features several of Atlanta's finest community choruses singing in a single concert. "This concert is not only a tribute to the memory of Ms. Irvin, but is also a celebration of choral singing in Atlanta," said Eric Nelson, director of Atlanta Sacred Chorale, who hosts the concert. This year, the Atlanta Boy Choir and The Michael O'Neal Singers are featured along with ASC. Each group will perform a short program of music and will join together for a grand finale of 225 singers performing, "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling," led by Eric Nelson.
