Dear Friends,
Sorry about the delay in getting this note of appreciation out to you following your fabulous performance with Moses Hogan. Suffice it to say,
both Moses and I were very pleased. He commented to me numerous times that he rarely guest conducts an ensemble so thoroughly prepared (accolades to you and me) or so receptive to his suggestions and directions
(accolades to you alone!). Thanks for such a momentous conclusion to a fantastic season. You have every right to be very proud of what you have accomplished.
The 2002-2003 Season promises to be even more exciting. From regal sounds of pomp and circumstance in the Fall to movie music in the Spring, there will truly be something for everyone! Our Christmas Concert will have two performances to better accommodate our growing audience and the Berlioz
Requiem in March will have an internationally recognized tenor soloist and the largest orchestra ever used by MOS. The Chamber Singers will lead us on An American Journey in February which will culminate in production of their first individual compact disc.
Please spread the word among your 'singing' friends and encourage them to call Cammie to arrange an audition time. I really would like to begin the season with a somewhat larger group than usual (especially men) because the Berlioz is huge! In fact, the composer suggested a chorus of 800 would be ideal! I'm afraid we won't quite make it to that number, but I wouldn't mind having around 175.
Have a great summer. You've earned it. I'll see you in September.
Fondly, Michael
