MOS Schedule For 2002 Includes Chamber Singers Concert, Return To Old Ireland and Songs of Hope and Freedom
The Spring 2002 season of The Michael O'Neal Singers promises to be one of the best ever.
The widely acclaimed Michael
O'Neal Chamber Singers will present two concerts in February entitled Timeless. The concerts, which will be presented at the Conant Center for the
Performing Arts at Oglethorpe University on February 12 and at Roswell UMC on February 17, will showcase the full range and abilities of the MOCS.
On March 15, the MOS presents a St. Patrick's concert with the music of Ireland. The MOS
will present music by the King's Singers as well as "Return To Old Ireland," the popular composition which had its world premier by The Michael O'Neal Singers on March 17, 2000.
The final concert of the 2001 - 2002 season will be Songs of Hope and Freedom presented on May 17 at Roswell UMC.
This concert features The Michael O'Neal Singers under the direction of guest conductor Moses Hogan - one of the world's foremost authorities on the African-American spiritual.
A highlight of this concert will be "Let His Light Shine," Hogan's own tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King.
