Search for Excellence, Love of Variety: Common Themes for MOS Concerts
Dear Friends,
As we approach the end of our 11th Season, I wish to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all of you. To our wonderful, talented and committed staff – a heartfelt thank you. To our singers (who make the MOS a reality) – it is a continual joy to make music with you. And to all of our supporters, audience members, and friends
– we thank you and pledge to continue to present choral presentations that are among the finest in this area.
This Season has included a wide variety of choral offerings – from J.S. Bach's B Minor Mass to selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar. Our 2001-2002 Season will have similar variety as we perform A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms; a reprise of Return to Old Ireland by Irish composer Mary McAuliffe; and beautiful and
haunting spirituals from the African-American tradition.
While having grown and developed into one of the Southeast's finest choral
ensembles, MOS remains at its core a group of individuals from diverse backgrounds who come together weekly for one purpose: to learn and perform music that will enrich
both the singer and the listener. Thank you for your contributions, past and present, and for sharing the vision with us. We pledge to continue our work of presenting
meaningful choral presentations of artistic excellence. Sincerely,
