Meet Daryl Lee – Chorus President
Daryl has been a member of The Michael O'Neal Singers since 1997, having overcome audition anxiety in order to be selected to sing with this marvelous chorus.
He is convinced that his chances were greatly enhanced by the fact that Anita, his wife of 33 years, is a member of the Alto section. As if that weren't enough, he was asked to
serve as President of the Chorus for the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons. The combination has made the last two years a "Most Excellent Adventure" in his singing career.
Daryl is a software development manager for VisionAIR, Inc., a Wilmington, NC based public safety software firm. He is an
active member of Roswell United Methodist Church, where he sings in the Sanctuary Choir and teaches adult Bible classes.
When not doing any of the above, Daryl enjoys golf when he can (which isn't much lately!) and has recently taken up the ancient game of chess, blending the old with the new by playing mostly over the Internet.
In 1982-1983 Daryl and Anita sold all their worldly goods and spent a year in Hefei, China, where Daryl taught three Electronic Engineering post-graduate seminars and Anita taught English.
Their two children, Meredith and Adam, then 9 and 8 respectively, spent the year with them.
A native of Port. Arthur, Texas, Daryl spent his adult life in the Dallas, Texas area before relocating to the Atlanta area in 1995. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southern
Methodist University and an M.A. in International Management Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas.
