Chairman's Prerogative From the Chairman of the MOS Board of Directors
Let me begin by wishing you a very Happy New Year and thanking each of you for your support of The Michael O'Neal Singers. We
appreciate your attendance at our concerts and are grateful for the financial support you provide, making it possible for us to offer the highest quality choral performance available in our area!
As Board Chairman, I am charged with the responsibility of leading the organization both administratively and fiscally, thus achieving balance between the MOS artistic goals and the
availability of funds to support these goals. Over the years, we have been fortunate to have support from the business community, philanthropic organizations, and gracious
individuals like you. This support, along with responsible management of the organization, has allowed us to operate without a deficit… maintaining our high standards for quality
performances. Although this is good news for the MOS, the arts community is feeling the lingering effects of September 11 and a struggling economy. This has resulted in fewer ticket
sales and reductions in individual, as well as, corporate/philanthropic financial support.
Our strategic plan outlines our desire to remain fiscally sound while growing The Michael O'Neal Singers artistically… something that will require the continued support of our
patrons and others who have so generously given to us in the past. Being able to offer a wider variety of choral music with nationally known soloists and the best instrumentalists
translates into the need for continued financial support. I trust that each of you shares our vision for the Michael O'Neal Singers and will respond accordingly as we move through our
2002-2003 concert season and beyond!
LEE HERRING, Chairman of the MOS Board of Directors, has been singing with

the Atlanta area as well as throughout the Southeast. He has been featured as tenor soloist with MOS on numerous occasions, and performs as soloist for the
