Hail and Farewell
Dear Friends,
MOS is about to enter an exciting new time in its existence with the addition of a full time Executive Director, David Wilkes. We look forward to many years of a fruitful
association with David, and know that he will do much to help us as we continue to enrich the quality of life in our community through the performance of choral repertoire that
engages the audience and is challenging and rewarding for the singers.
As we welcome David, however, we must also bid farewell to someone who has been instrumental in bringing MOS to its
current level of recognition and excellence. Jeannie Lewis has been a member of our staff since May 1993, and during those 11 ½ years has brought commitment and professionalism to every
task she has ever undertaken. Her dedication to MOS has known no bounds, and she has played an enormous role in both our artistic and organizational growth during the past decade. I
can personally say that I have greatly appreciated (and been the beneficiary of) her clear thinking, visionary attitude, attention to detail and overall love for our organization.
Whether she has been involved in concert production, recording projects, marketing, grant writing, or any other of a host of activities, she has always given 100% of herself to the effort.
She will be sorely missed as she and her husband, Sam, who has accepted a new position with BellSouth, establish their new home in Charleston, SC. I am sure that the already well
-respected arts community of Charleston can only be enriched by Jeannie's involvement, however she may decide to contribute. While Jeannie will still be with us until mid-March, all of us in
MOS would like to take this opportunity to wish Jeannie and Sam the very best in this new adventure of their lives.
I know many of you may wish to offer your own word of thanks
to Jeannie for what she has meant to MOS, and I encourage you to either drop her a line at MOS, or speak to her personally at either the Chamber Singers concerts in February or the Elijah performances in March.
Warmly,

|
