Eating and drinking are activities that are universal to all humankind, so it’s not surprising that they have been popular subjects with poets and composers through the years. Kaleidoscope, known for the variety of its programming, takes a look (largely humorous) at the subject of food and drink in a concert entitled A Musical Smorgasbord. Music will include John Rutter’s Banquet Fugue, Allan Robert Petker’s The Feast, Vaughan Williams’s Wassail Song, and selections from P.D.Q. Bach’s The Seasonings. Musical Theatre will also be represented with Food, Glorious Food from “Oliver” and Be Our Guest from “Beauty and the Beast.” You’ll even hear a tribute to coffee in Java Jive, made famous by both the Ink Spots and Manhattan Transfer.

After the concert, please join us across the hall for light refreshments!
