Rock, Roll and Remember

MOS moves into previously unexplored repertoire (at least for us!) as it presents an evening of Rock and Roll music. American Bandstand, with host Dick Clark, helped define the popular musical tastes of America from 1952 to 1988 as Top 40 hits were danced to by a studio audience of energetic and exuberant teens. We’ll pay tribute to the American Bandstand era as we sing and dance to songs of that time, accompanied by real live rock and roll musicians (yes, there are some still around!).

Early rock and roll included such names as Bill Haley and the Comets, The Platters, and of course, Elvis Presley. With the 60s came the Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, and two of the biggest rock groups of all time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The 70s found groups like the Bee Gees and ABBA harmonizing for enthusiastic audiences worldwide. Prince, Whitney Houston, Elton John, and Michael Jackson are all examples of the popularity of the solo performing artist in the 80s. All this and more will be part of our season finale as we Rock, Roll and Remember!
