Summer Singers – CELEBRATE: MUSIC FOR JOYOUS OCCASIONS

MOS celebrates returning to in-person summer singing with a program of well-known choral compositions all written for celebratory events such as birthdays, weddings, and coronations. The program includes Holst’s I Vow to Thee, My Country, Randall Thompson’s Alleluia, Handel’s Zadok the Priest, and Alice Parker’s arrangement of Beethoven’s Joyful, Joyful, among others.

The Michael O’Neal Summer Singers is a non-auditioned summer chorus, now in its 18th year. No audition is required, but previous choral experience is strongly recommended. In-person participation requirements include rehearsal attendance for at least six of the seven scheduled rehearsals, as well as the dress rehearsal and performance; and a participation fee of $75 per singer which will include scores and audio rehearsal materials. All in-person singers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and upload proof of vaccination at the time of registration.

In-person singers will need to provide their own black folder and concert dress–tuxes or black suits with black bow tie for men and 3/4- or long-sleeved black outfits for women (can be dresses, skirts and blouses, or slacks and blouses; skirts/dresses must be tea-length or longer).

The 2022 Summer Singers program is also available in MOS ONLINE format, for singers who would like to participate remotely. All registered singers will receive links to the marked scores, audio part-learning aids, and a special MOS ONLINE concert live stream.  Rehearsals can be experienced live via Zoom, or via recorded YouTube videos at a time of the singer’s choosing.
