Summer Singers

Choral singers–keep your voices in shape during the “off season” by joining Michael O’Neal for a community program of diverse choral music, all celebrating what we love about the season of summer! A highlight of the repertoire will be selections from Johannes Brahms’ gorgeous Liebeslieder Walzer (“Love song Waltzes”) in a new English translation by Christopher Goldsack. The Michael O’Neal Summer Singers is a non-auditioned summer chorus, now in its 19th year. No audition is required, but previous choral experience is strongly recommended. In-person participation requirements include rehearsal attendance for at least five of the seven scheduled rehearsals, as well as the dress rehearsal and performance; and a participation fee of $75 per singer which will include scores and audio rehearsal materials.

In-person singers will need to provide their own black folder and concert dress. Concert dress must be all black and may be black long-sleeved collared shirts with black pants, or 3/4- or long-sleeved black outfits (can be dresses, skirts and blouses, or slacks and blouses; skirts/dresses must be tea-length or longer), plus black shoes with black socks/stockings.

The 2023 Summer Singers program is also available in MOS ONLINE format, for singers who would like to participate remotely. All registered singers will receive links to the marked scores, audio part-learning aids, and a special MOS ONLINE concert live stream.  Registration is ongoing. Rehearsals can be experienced live via Zoom, or via recorded YouTube videos at a time of the singer’s choosing. The participation fee for ONLINE Summer Singers 2023 is $40.
